One Choice: Obama

Today’s best persons in the world: Robert Gibbs & John Cleese

Keith Olbermann delivered the old one-two punch on his show tonight. First he showed video of Obama’s communications director, Robert Gibbs, feeding Sean “What a disgrace to Irish Americans” Hannity his own liver with fava beans and a nice chianti.
What spurred the exchange was Hannity insinuating Obama was of the same “domestic terrorism” mindset as former Weather Underground member William Ayers because they’d served on the same board. Gibbs neatly reminded Hannity of the anti-Semite who’d been on his show over the past weekend and if he gave this man so much airtime, couldn’t it also be construed that he was an anti-Semite. En garde!
Sheer f-in brilliance!!! As Olbermann noted, it was amazing to see someone break through Fox’s force field of jingoistic rhetoric.
The second punch was delivered by a dear friend of Palin… Michael Palin. His fellow Monty Python alum John Cleese sent Olbermann a poem he penned in honor of Gibbs homage to Hannibal Lector. Here ’tis:

An Ode to Sean Hannity
By John Cleese
Aping urbanity, oozing with vanity
Plump as a manatee, faking humanity
Journalistic calamity, intellectual inanity
Fox Noise insanity, you’re a profanity
Hannity.”

Sweet Betty, I wish y’all good luck tryin’ to figure out what Palin is speakin’ to is that reform and we’re mavericks. Try your luck HERE. My favorite quote from this Wall Street Journal Washington Wire blog post by Elizabeth Holmes:

On 1960s radical William Ayers and his ties to Barack Obama: “It is pertinent. It’s important because when you consider Barack Obama’s reaction to and explanation to his association there, and without him being clear at all on what he knew and when he knew it, that I think kinda peeks into his ability to tell us the truth on, not only on association but perhaps other things also…it just makes us ask the question that, if there’s not forthrightness there, with that association and what was known and when it was known, does that lead us to ask, is there forthrightness with the plans Barack Obama has or say tax cuts, or spending increases, makes us question judgment. And I think it’s fair and relevant.”

And hun, I think it’s fair and relevant to post quotes like that, too. Maybe Palinspeak becomes discernable after quaffing a sixpack in rapid succession?
